Über ein Jahr Arabischer Frühling in Syrien. Widerstand, Aufstand, Bürgerkrieg?

Over one year of Arab Spring in Syria. Resistance, protest, civil war?

Since last year a country wide protests movement against the Syrian regime has developed. During this time more than 8500 people died. What is the current situation in Syria? What are the political and economic interests in this conflict? What do oppositional groups in Syria demand and which kind of movements do these "oppositions" represent? With a lecture and a photo documentary we will introduce the origins of the protest and the current political situation in Syria. Timo Vogt, photographer travelled in February 2012 illegally through the North Western Province Idlib. He met cheerful demonstrators, spoke to internet activists and just escaped together with some others the Syrian army, when the village was attacked. Timo will present his pictures and talk about his personal impressions. After this an activist from Adopt a Revolution will provide an overview about the current developments and speak about the campaign "Adopt a Revolution".

Seit letztem Jahr hat sich in Syrien eine landesweite Protestbewegung gegen das syrische Regime entwickelt. Innerhalb dieses Zeitraums starben bisher mehr als 8500 Menschen. Wie sieht die Lage derzeit in Syrien aus? Was sind die politischen und wirtschaftlichen Interessen in diesem Konflikt? Was fordern oppositionelle Gruppen und welche Strömungen repräsentiert diese "Opposition"? Anhand eines Vortrages und einer Fotodokumentation führt der Abend in die Ursprünge des Protests und die derzeitige politische Lage in Syrien ein. Timo Vogt, Fotograf: reiste im Februar 2012 illegal durch die nordwestliche syrische Provinz Idlib. Er traf auf fröhlichen Demonstranten, sprach mit Internetaktivisten und entging mit Bewohnern und Rebellen nur knapp der Armee, als diese ihr Dorf massiv angriff. Er wird seine Bilder präsentieren und von persönlichen Eindrücken berichten. Ein Aktivist von Adopt A Revolution wird im Anschluss über die Situation in Syrien und die aktuellen politischen Entwicklungen geben sowie über die Kampagne "Adopt a Revolution" berichten.
