Invitation and Call for Papers
The organization of the BUKO 37 congress is entering its critical stage: We have collected many ideas, planned numerous workshops and the mobilization has begun.
This year we focus on internationalism & transnational solidarity in times of crisis, wars and racism, as well as discussing experiences with and perspectives of transnational emancipatory practice and organization.
We would like to invite you, your groups and networks to Münster to discuss, act and make plans together from May 14 to May 17 2015.
This year's BUKO congress is titled "Stop. future_unwritten. transnational solidarity" and is organized by a local network from Münster and a larger group of people from various places in Germany. The congress is a place for debate and exchange of ideas of left-wing movements. Exchange of thoughts, networking and communication about internationalist topics as well as actions are the focus of the congress.
The main emphasis of this year's congress is transnational solidarity and transnational organization: What does transnational solidarity mean today? How do we put things into practice? Who is fighting with whom and for what? These questions are to be discussed in panels antiracism, education, queerfeminism, social ecology and internationalism (antimilitarism/social struggles/economy). International involvement at the congress is important to us and we aim at a high rate of women and people of colour as speakers and guests. Travel expenses of international guests can be subsidized and there is a group of people helping with the application of visas. We can provide accommodation and food for you and have a professional team of interpreters that will be able to translate for you.
If you would like to come to the congress, you are welcome to register now and tell us if you need a place to sleep or child care.
There will be a vegan kitchen that is based on everyone's participation. Nobody should be excluded from participating in the congress (especially not international guests and those living in precarious conditions) because they cannot afford the congress fee or the travel expenses. So if you need support, please do contact us!
The financial contribution to the congress will be about 40 ? which is the regular (covering cost) contribution, or 25 ? (the reduced contribution) and 60 ? (the solidarity contribution). Although lack of money should not prevent individual participation in the congress ? it should not prevent the congress from happening either.
