Empire of education politics or neocolonial neoliberalism in an international context

In this workshop we will discuss the question of neoliberal education politics regarding specific countries as well as the context of the globalisation of education in general. In this process the role of education enterprises and NGOs is becoming more important as they operate in a context of current imperial politics. In this workshop we will show with the cases of actors in Africa and Europe in which way one can talk about a empire of education politics and which use the terms "postcolonial" and "neocolonial" will have. After a brief input we will work in small groups and with material.

In diesem Workshop wird die Frage der neoliberalen Bildungspolitik nicht nur auf einzelne Länderbeispiele bezogen, sondern unter dem Blickwinkel der Globalisierung von Bildung betrachtet. Hier spielen in zunehmenden Maße Bildungsunternehmen und Nichtregierungsorganisationen eine Rolle, die im Rahmen heutiger imperialer Politik agieren. In dem Workshop soll vor allen Dingen am Beispiel von AkteurInnen in Afrika und Europa aufgezeigt werden, inwiefern von einem bildungspolitischen "Empire" gesprochen werden kann und welchen Nutzen bei der Analyse die Begriffe "postkolonial" und "neokolonial" haben. Nach einem kurzen Vortrag wird in Kleingruppen mit mitgebrachtem Material gearbeitet.
