War starts here Camp 2013 at the GÜZ. Info and mobilisation

In September 2012 the War Starts Here Camp was held in Saxony-Anhalt. The idea was and is to create a focal point for anti-militaristic politics with an international discussion and action camp so as to bring together different struggles, currents and countries for a broad anti-militaristic form of resistance. The GÜZ in the Colbitz-Letzlinger moor seemed to be right place. Here different forms of militarisation become visible. The 232 km² military training ground of Europe as a private service by Rheinmetall is central to the Federal German Forces and other European armies. Here soldiers are trained with laser-like weapon systems for their foreign deployment; tank, riot and Crowd Control training takes place in recreated villages. With the construction of larger city „Schnöggersburg“, GÜZ has build a military scenery where solders of NATO staates will train war and counter-insurgency in the sense of the NATO strategy paper „Urban Operations in the Year 2020“. The huge open property offers the opportunity to put the slogan "War starts here - let's stop it here - into practice. last year the GÜZ was boarded, diversely marked and sabotaged. Thus the training was successfully disrupted. With the workshop we would like to provide a brief information part on GÜZ and then collectively discuss the experiences and analysis of the previous camp, the started discussions and day of action. We will also inform of the coming up camp, develop ideas and network.

Im September 2012 fand in Sachsen-Anhalt das War Starts Here-Camp statt. Die Idee war bzw. ist, mit einem internationalen Diskussions- & Aktions-Camp einen Kristallisationspunkt antimilitaristischer Politik zu schaffen, um verschiedene Teilbereichskämpfe, Strömungen und Länder zu breitem antimilitaristsichem Widerstand zu verbinden. Das Gefechtübungszentrum (GÜZ) schien der richtige Ort zu sein. Hier werden verschiedene Facetten der Militarisierung deutlich. Der 232 km² große und modernste Truppenübungsplatz Europas ist von zentraler Bedeutung für Bundeswehr und NATO. Unter lasersimulierten Waffensystemen trainieren Soladat_innen für Auslandseinsätze, üben Panzergefechte, Riot & Crowd Control. Mit dem Baubeginn von „Schnöggersburg“, wird eine militärische Kulissenstadt errichtet, in der intern. Armeen Krieg und Aufstandsbekämpfung im Sinne des NATO-Strategiepapiers „Urban Operations in the Year 2020“ trainieren werden. Zudem eröffnet das riesige offene Gelände, die Möglichkeit, die Parole War Starts Here – Let stop it – auch praktisch umzusetzen. Das GÜZ wurde beim Aktionstag 2012 geentert, vielfältig markiert & sabotiert! Wir wollen uns nach einem Infopart zum GÜZ über die Erfahrungen und Analysen des letzten Camps, die Diskussionen und den Aktionstag austauschen. In Hinblick auf das kommende Camp wollen wir informieren, Ideen spinnen, uns vernetzen und werfen die Frage auf: Krieg beginnt hier. Wo ist das hier und was bedeutet Antimilitarismus in Theorie und Praxis in einer Welt, in der Militarisierung und Krieg zur Normalität werden?
