"Beyond the end of…“ – History is being made (1988 bis ..!)

At the protests against the IMF and World Bank in Berlin in 1988 the disconnectedness with struggles in other countries has been criticized. In the 1990s the Zapatistas understanding has been widespread that it is not a "Solidarity with ..." what they are talking about. Rather, the Zapatistas understood by Solidarity a common, if not the same fight: "We all have our struggles and we need to connect them." Theme of the workshop is global resistance movement which where inspired by this understanding of Solidarity: history, conditions of protest - and the question of where and how they came to light today.

Bei den Protesten gegen IWF und Weltbank in Berlin 1988 wurde die Unverbundenheit mit Kämpfen in anderen Ländern kritisiert. In den 1990er Jahren ist mit den Zapatistas das Verständnis verbreitet worden, dass es eben nicht um eine „Solidarität mit ...“ geht. Vielmehr verstehen die Zapatistas unter Solidarität einen gemeinsamen, wenn auch nicht gleichen Kampf: „Wir alle haben unsere Kämpfe und wir müssen sie verbinden“. Im Workshop ist die davon inspirierte globale Widerstandsbewegung Thema: Geschichte, Bedingungen des Protests – und die Frage, wo und wie sie heute zu Tage tritt.
