The squat on the former site of Topf&Soehne

2001-2008 there was a squat in Erfurt. It was located on the site of a corporation that had built the crematories for the death-camps of the Nazis. The squatters worked with the history of the site and participated in recent political struggles. Above all the squat was a social center that provided space for culture, education, politics, living and more. The workshop introduces the project that was evicted in April 2008.

Von 2001-2008 gab es in Erfurt ein besetztes Haus auf dem Gelände, auf dem die Firma Topf&Söhne im Nationalsozialismus Krematoriumsöfen für Konzentrations- und Vernichtungslager hergestellt hatte. Die Besetzer_innen haben sich von Beginn an aktiv mit der Geschichte des Geländes auseinandergesetzt und sich zudem an aktuellen politischen Kämpfen beteiligt. Vor allem war "das Haus" aber ein soziales Zentrum, dass für unzählige Gruppen und Einzelpersonen Raum für Kultur, Bildung, Politik, Wohnen und mehr zur Verfügung gestellt hat. Der Workshop stellt das im April 2008 geräumte Projekt vor.
